River Rwizi is the second longest River in Uganda after River Nile. Situated in South Western Uganda ( about 295kms by road) with catchment of 8700 Square KmsRiver Rwizi is a source of water for livelihood to both people and animals in Districts of Buhweju, Rubirizi, Sheema, Mbarara, Rwampara,Ntungamo, Kyotera, Isingiro, Kiruhura, Lyatonde, Rakai. Its estimated that 5 million people directly depend on R.Rwizi. its the biggest river in Ankole sub region and it passes through 14 districts before it pours its water to Lake Victoria.
