Office of the president- Bushenyi District attends stakeholders engagement on status of the implementation of water supply stabilisation projects in Bushenyi by NWSC Bushenyi Area to Bushenyi District local government & Bushenyi/ Ishaka Municipality Council leadership

Today; office of the president Bushenyi District joined other stakeholders invited by NWSC Bushenyi Area to engage Bushenyi District local leadership and Bushenyi – Ishaka Municipality leadership about NWSC performance milestone, its strategic planning , identifying customer needs/ challenges and implementation of water supply stabilisation projects in Bushenyi to increase water supply coverage.

NWSC -Bushenyi Area Manager Eng Sam Kiggundu told the gathering about a motley of water supply projects aimed at mitigating water supply in water stressed areas. They include inter alia; Warugo Water project, Bweranyangi mini water supply project, Irembezi mini water supply project ( Nyamiko booster), Kahungye mini water supply system ( Kahungye booster), Katungu mini water supply ( katungu booster).

Eng Sam Kiggundu says that Warugo water project once commissioned will cause water revolution since it will supply water in five subcounties in Bushenyi and surplus will be piped to Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality.

Managing Director of NWSC Dr.Eng Silver Mugisha who presided over the meeting emphatically said NWSC is a public service entity and therefore for NWSC to fulfil its strategic performance plans; community local leadership and customers ‘ needs and challenges take its institutional strategic intrest. Dr. Silver Mugisha reminded people that NWSC is only supposed to supply water to areas gazetted by Ministry by water and Environment not being flim flamed that NWSC must be everywhere.

Bushenyi District and Bushenyi Ishaka municipality leadership and other opinion leaders thanked H.E Museveni for having appointed a solid Managing director of NWSC – Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha who has worked hard to make sure that grassroot people access clean and safe water and equally thanked NWSC work force for their dedication and patriotic service to fulfil NRM government vision of water for all.
