NWSC and Warugo water project contractors have held Community sensitization

Today National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and Warugo water project contractors have held Community sensitization by engaging Community people, local leaders and other stakeholders to inform them about the progress of the project and areas needing Community support towards completion of the project.

NWSC was represented by Eng Mujuni Herbert- Project manager, Victoria Komukyeya Principal Sociologist Planning and Capital Development Directorate, Eng Sharon Karungi Manager Environment and Social safeguards – Planning and Capital development and Bushenyi Area Manager Eng Sam Kiggundu, Mr.Kahiigi Paul -Principal Public Relations Officer and other staff members.

Bushenyi District Deputy RDC Rosemary Atuhaire, Hon Katusiime Annet Mugisha, Chairman Jaffari Basajabalaba, Bushenyi DPC and DISO attended the meeting .

The contractor said that works are at 50% progress and are projecting to complete by December of this year.

Community local leaders and people showcased their gratitude to NWSC under auspices of Dr.Eng Mugisha Silver for having brought Warugo water project that has caused Community development impact through direct and indirect employment, market for their products and inferably making their communities access clean and safe water after completion.

Warugo water project will cost 11.8 billions Ug shillings, will provide 2.5 million litres of water per day that will make kakunju,Ruhumuro, Bitooma and Kyamuhunga subcounties to access clean and safe water. The surplus water will be piped to Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality to mitigate deficit ingredient in water supply.
